Autodesk's "On the Job with Rob Cohee" visits RND Automation
Autodesk Manufacturing Evangelist Rob Cohee takes to the road to explore how Autodesk customers are utilizing technology to enhance workflows, create innovative new designs, and increase productivity and engineering output. In these episode Rob provides a summary of his trip to RND Automation to learn how they are helping their customers become more competitive, improve product quality, and get products to market faster through automation.

RND Automation named Autodesk Inventor of the Year for 2010
Members of the Autodesk manufacturing community from around the world chose the Sarasota, Fla.–based company by voting on the community website. RND Automation designs customized automation solutions for a wide range of customers, including manufacturers of hydraulic valves, contact lenses and insulated beverage containers. The company was originally named Inventor of the Month in March 2010 for its Digital Prototyping work with clients to help manufacture and assemble products more efficiently and with less waste.

Sean Dotson, president of RND Automation & Engineering, plans to move his firm from a Manatee County facility to a larger facility in Sarasota County early next year.

RND Automation Expands to New Facility
RND Automation & Engineering plans to join at least two other Manatee County companies that have moved across the county line this year. The manufacturer, which specializes in custom factory automation, plans to relocate in January after the Sarasota County Commission on Tuesday agreed to award the company economic development incentives.
